Fancy being paid to travel around during your summer holidays?
by Admin User - Thursday, 19 April 2012, 01:13 PM

The Yorkshire Trading Company are looking for recruits for their outdoor events show team.
The role will involve touring the country between May and September, visiting major outdoor events, county shows, horse trials and game fairs selling country and equestrian clothing - they do understand that you might not be finished for the summer until June or July though, fear not!

The job is challenging and gives students the opportunity to experience working outdoors, visiting different areas of the country. All food and accommodation is included so you can save up for your next steps in education or the world beyond. You'll make new friends too!

If you are 17 or older, apply online now (www.rydaleclothing.co.uk/recruitment) - they are keen to interview potential candidates soon even if you don't finish this year's studies until June or July.

Fancy an Olympics ticket?
by Admin User - Friday, 30 March 2012, 01:23 PM

Further to the previous information about Hull College Group's Olympics tickets allocation, we have had confirmation that we will receive:-
6 tickets - for 5 students aged 14-18 and 1 member of staff to accompany students. These are for the whole college group.

Event - Women's preliminary football
Date: 31st July 2012
Venue: Manchester - Old Trafford
Time: 17:15 kick-off

We need to inform the Olympic organisers of any specific student access requirements very soon. To help with this, we are asking for interested parties (staff and students) to register their interest in applying for the next stage of ticket allocations by Thursday 29th March 2012 (yes folks, that's this Thursday!).

At this stage interested students simply need to send their expression of interest and provide their name, age, address and contact telephone and email to Emma Barker in Marketing (ebarker@hull-college.ac.uk) .
This can be by returned email or by post.  We have attached a form (click here for the PDF - you'll need to have Adobe Reader installed to view this, click here to download Reader if the above document doesn't open) that can be used if wanted.

Students and staff who are interested need to note that this is not within College term time, and they need to confirm that they will take the place if offered, and be available for the event. Any interested member of staff should also email their expression of interest and needs to be aware that the students will all be in the 14-18 age range and that they (as the member of staff) will have to take full responsibility for the trip.

Following the initial expression of interest we will then send out a pack with details of the next selection stage. This will contain detailed information about a task they will need to prepare and return, along with initial parental consent requirements. This will need to be returned on the Monday following the Easter break. The detailed information will also give an outline of the next phase.

This a very exciting and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We look forward to receiving applications of interest in the next few days! Good luck!
